I am a lecturer in Game Design at Abertay University – the Top International School for Game Design (Princeton Review) – where I lead the BA (Hons) Game Design and Production degree programme. I spent 17 years working in the video games industry - mostly as a Lead Designer (12 yrs) and latterly as a Creative Lead - designing games for publishers like Activision, Sega, Microsoft, Sony, Square Enix, Curve and Zynga. My game design work has reached hundreds of millions of players worldwide and my DCMS research contributed to the UK Parliament’s decision on Loot Box legislation.

Outside of work I’ve been an active in music (playing in bands, promoting concerts, recording/ live engineering) since the mid-90s, and a keen Photographer since not long after.
